Country: France, Bordeaux, St. Emilion
Grape Varieties: 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc and 10% Malbec
Located on the famous western plateau of Saint-Emilion and is just a few hundred metres from the town.
Average age of vines: 40-50 years
Is vinified in cement vats and stainless-steel tanks before being aged in oak. Vieux Clos Saint-Emilion is a charming, fruity wine for relatively early drinking and can be approached between three and ten years after the vintage.
Tasting Notes: Deep shiny cherry to purple colour. Seductive bouquet of sweet cherries, plums, dark berries, highlighted with earthy notes, very elegant with delicate aromas of new oak. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with well matured, but felt powerful tannins, structure, juicy fruit and good acidity, harmonious round and balanced, with a long, slightly spicy aftertaste of red fruits, earthy notes and fine toast a beautiful Château Vieux Clos.
